About
Fermeuse Harbour will support wealth creation for the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador and all of Canada for generations to come.
We will facilitate long-term, stable employment for skilled workers from Newfoundland and Labrador while contributing to the sustainable development of the Province’s energy resources. The Marine Base, Spool Base, and Wind-to-Hydrogen/Ammonia project will create over 300 long-term, specialized service and technical jobs.
Our vision
Our vision is to create a world-class marine services base that will support multiple energy industry advancements, including a spool base, marine base, and a wind to Green hydrogen and Green ammonia project servicing international markets. We are committed to following modern and technologically advanced construction and operational standards that embrace environmental stewardship and promote decarbonization. We recognize that reducing greenhouse gas emissions is critical to preserving the planet for future generations, and we believe that our initiatives will make a significant impact.
The transition of the global energy system toward non-fossil fuels and renewables is the most significant development in the energy and natural resources sector in our lifetimes. To remain responsible and competitive, Fermeuse Harbour will aggressively prepare for this inevitable trend. Fortunately, the Grand Banks of Newfoundland contains one of the lowest carbon sources of fossil fuels available globally, so as a service provider to the oil and gas industry Fermeuse Energy will be a positive contributor. We will diverge from traditional harbor development and engineering design practices and incorporate specific Net Zero planning principles. We will invest heavily in renewable wind energy sources and reducing our reliance on fossil fuels for operations. The efficiencies to be gained by a well-planned modern port will lead to permanently reduced transportation costs, permanently reduced greenhouse gas emissions, and lower carbon footprints for industry.
Local and Community Benefits
Fermeuse Energy’s Marine Base, Spool Base and Wind-to-Hydrogen developments will bring significant economic benefits to Newfoundland and Labrador for decades to come. We are committed to creating jobs and opportunities for local communities while promoting the sustainable development of the Province’s energy resources.
Our aim is to facilitate long-term, stable employment for skilled workers from Newfoundland and Labrador while contributing to the growth of the industry. The development of Fermeuse Harbour is an opportunity to offer streamlined, safer and lower costs services for industry and allow for reasonable expansion of the local tax base for involved municipalities. Responsible development will enable growth of a cluster of specialized industrial and technological service centres as the oil and gas industry, wind energy, hydrogen and marine service sectors grow and diversify.
Fermeuse Energy’s Marine Base, Spool Base and Wind-to-Hydrogen developments will support the growth of Newfoundland and Labrador’s key energy sectors and their community partners. The development of modern infrastructure and specialized services will lead to reduced transportation costs, reduced greenhouse gas emissions, and lower carbon footprints for the benefit of our communities.
